A Family Legacy in Ceylon Tea Country
Our Story
Ceylon Tea Resort began as a family legacy rooted in the hills of Ella. This land has been passed down through generations in one of Sri Lanka's most celebrated tea-growing regions—a place known for producing some of the island's finest, most flavorful leaves.
In 2015, our family planted a new tea garden on this very estate and has cared for it ever since, harvesting and selling our own Ceylon tea with pride. Over the years we met countless travelers who came to Sri Lanka not only for its scenery, but for its tea. Many wished to step into a real tea field, learn how tea is picked and made, and feel the calm of the tea country for themselves.
That desire inspired a bigger dream. In 2022, we envisioned a boutique retreat where guests could stay within a living tea plantation—walking among the bushes at sunrise, tasting fresh tea on the balcony, and experiencing Ella's nature in a way that feels genuine and unhurried.
Construction began in 2023, guided by one promise: to build slowly, thoughtfully, and in harmony with the land. Every space was designed around the tea theme and the views that make Ella unforgettable. Our first opening is planned for December 2025, welcoming guests into a quiet sanctuary shaped by family history, Ceylon tea culture, and the mountains we call home.
Above all, Ceylon Tea Resort exists for one purpose: to help every guest leave with beautiful memories—of tea, of Ella, and of a place that feels like it has always belonged here. And as our journey continues, we look forward to completing an expanded family-friendly area during 2026, so more travelers can share this experience together.
